Our Tours

In 2004, Steve and I were asked to participate in the organization of Farm Tours in Dickson County, Tennessee. AgriTourism is an up and coming industry that is actively nurtured here in Tennessee. We have been actively invloved every since, working with the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce and other community leaders to encourage visits to our county.
We offer a variety of tours. Some are scheduled and arranged through the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce. We can also schedule them directly. Here are a few of the options.

Basic Farm Tours:
On this tour, we take the participant around the farm and introduce them to the animals and crops of our farm. In the spring and early summer, this will include holding baby newly hatched chicks, petting lambs and kids and preparing for and planting herbs and garden vegetables. In fall, harvesting crops and observing sheep shearing can be options.

History Tours:
On this tour, we do blacksmith and handspinning demonstrations dressed in the clothing that someone in the mid eighteen hundreds would wear. We talk about farm life in that period and Tennessee History.

Nature Tours:
On this tour, we conduct nature walks and discuss and see wildflowers and other native plants. Conservation and land stewardship is discussed.

Field Trips:
Field trips are available in any of the topics above. Many science topics are interjected into the discussions.
