This class gives you a basic history of blacksmithing and showing you the tools of the trade. You’ll learn basic techniques such as drawing out, twisting, and splitting. All materials are provided.

Please note that due to COVID-19, students are required to wear masks at all times during classes.

Description

In this beginning class students will learn the history and basics of blacksmithing.

  • Safety
  • Anvils- You will learn the different types, brands and what to look for in purchasing an anvil.
  • Forge- The different types of forges will be discussed. A gas forge is used in this class.
  • Tools- What tools are needed and where you can find them.

All materials are provided and students will learn basic techniques that include:

  • Drawing out
  • Twisting

Refunds may be given when at least a week notice is given. If less than a week notice, the class fee may be transferred to another time.
