Soap Projects – Liquid Soap, Dish Soap and Lotion Bars – Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025 – 9 am to noon

$75.00

This Soap Projects class is designed for students who have taken our Beginning Soap Making class or have prior experience making soap and are comfortable working with lye and safety precautions.

We’ll explore and make three different soap projects in this class: liquid soap, dish soap and lotion bars.

Our liquid soap will be made with potassium hydroxide, giving students experience with that type of lye. The liquid soap recipe is made in a crock pot (offering more experience with hot process soap making).

The dish soap recipe for washing dishes will include citric acid and we’ll discuss how that impacts recipes. This soap is designed to be used in conjunction with a wooden scrub brush and students can bring their own ramekins or similar containers to pour their dish soap into or choose from some we’ll have handy.

Our lotion bars project isn’t technically soap making but using many of the same ingredients and molds. We’ll make hard lotion bars that can be tailored from a basic starting recipe and scented with a variety of essential oils or fragrance oils.

We’ll make large community batches for each project, which will be split among students so that you’ll get to take home a portion of each batch.

The Soap Projects class assumes that students know the basics (we only do a quick review at the beginning about safety when working with lye) but you don’t need to have completed all of our soap classes to take this one.
